There is a lot to consider when planning a wine wall, therefore the best advice is get in touch with us early, to avoid missing anything that could be disappointing or costly for you.
- You may need planning permission from your local authority for an outdoor condenser unit, so it pays to check this in advance.
- Keep under-floor heating well clear (consider thermal breaks or at least a 400mm clearance. If possible separate the underfloor heating circuit next to the wine wall, so that this can be individually adjusted.
- Be aware of natural light especially south facing windows.
- Fireplaces and radiators should be kept well clear
- Weight – this can sometimes be overlooked, but keep in mind that 500 bottles of wine weigh about 500kg, plus the weight of the wine wall cabinet which could be significant, therefore ensure there is sufficient structural support under-floor.
- Any foreign heat source (e.g. hot water pipes, hot ducts) must be fully insulated/isolated from the climate controlled zone.
